Rules & Code of Conduct in General Discussion Posted December 7, 2022 User Agreement The following are rules set forth by Rising Staff for the Services Dekaron Rising provides. These rules apply not only to players, but also staff members -- who are held to an even higher standard when it comes to upholding these rules. Any attempt to break them will result in appropriate action against your in-game accounts. Please know that no one is truly banned until they have created a ban appeal and that ban appeal has been declined by the Executive Staff. Please also note that in many cases we are unable to share the proof we have internally for your ban, either due to the original reporter not giving permission for us to share the evidence (usually in cases where they wish to protect their identity as the reporter) or in cases where proof collected by staff shows private information which was also captured inadvertently. If you request proof and the appeals team does not provide it, it is likely for this reason. Additionally if you report, or Dekaron Rising suspects fraudulent or abusive activity, you agree to cooperate with Dekaron Rising in any investigation and to use any fraud prevention measures we prescribe. Use public computers at own risk. Use the same username and password on other private servers at own risk. 1. No Hacking, Botting/Macro/Automated Scripts or Scamming: You are fully responsible for all activities conducted through your account and under all of your Account IDs. If you shared your account infos with another person and got your items/account stolen by doing so we will not be able to help you retrieve the stolen items. Any user/player caught using cheats, fully automated scripts, or third party programs to gain unnatural or unintended benefits are banned from the server regardless of donation history or social placement. This also includes Botting ,Macros, or anything besides the built-in Battle Support feature. A. Intentionally accepting/acquiring accounts, characters, items that have been altered or otherwise manipulated outside of the designed game mechanics or intended features is also a bannable offense. B. Scamming is defined as anyone attempting to gain access to accounts, items or in-game currency in any way, through deception or fraudulent means. Tricking players, dishonest schemes, and fraud will not be tolerated. 2. Social mistreatment and Harassment: A. Spam/Flood: Flooding the in-game chat with repeated messages is not allowed. B. Racism and Hate Speech: Hate and abuse can take many forms including; racism, antisemitism, religion, misogyny and LGBT, and cultural abuse. Avoid at all costs, insulting someone based upon their country, sex, culture, sexuality, lifestyle or skin-color. Trash talk is one thing, but harassment and hate speech is another. This also includes but is not limited to character and/or guild names. C. Harassment: Defined as damaging the other players experience voluntarily and put all efforts to mistreat them. If you feel like someone is annoying you, add them to your blacklist so you can't see what they write in game. It becomes harassment if the player then dodges the blacklist filter by creating alts to PM you, guild names, pet names etc. Harassment is a serious offense punishable by account restrictions and potential bans. Enforcement To ensure that the rules are fairly and impartially enforced, I will be reviewing all reports personally. The ticket system has been updated to include a report category. Chat Logs Chat logs will be reviewed and action will be taken once confirmed. This is an example of chat logs in-game: Mutes, Account Restrictions, and Bans The action taken will depend on the severity of the harassment or hate speech. Mutes When someone is muted in game, they will be blocked from all in-game communication channels. When the mute expires, all chat functions will return to normal. 3. Staff Impersonation: It is strictly forbidden to impersonate any person. This includes, but not limited to; Dekaron Rising Staff and other players. 3. No Bug Exploitation: You may not exploit any bug that grants the player unnatural or unintended benefits in Dekaron Rising. (this includes attacking monsters from behind barriers and bugging bosses) If you communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug it is punishable. Furthermore If there is a bug or exploit it should be PM'd directly to an Executive Staff Member on Discord. Abusing or exploiting bugs may result in a permanent ban. Abusing the temporary godmode you gain for changing channel or map to steal monsters or avoid PK is not allowed. Abusing this ability to change channels will result in bans left at GM discretion. Teleporting in/trying to steal the Treasure chests granted to the winning party of Deadfront is considered bug exploit and will be treated as such. You are only allowed to take the chests if your party wins The Deadfront. Teleporting into the other teams base in DKSQ is considered bug exploitation and will be treated as such. Attacking monsters or other players through walls where the monsters/players have no chance of fighting back is also considered bug exploitation and will also be treated as such. 4a. Account Trading or Selling & Sharing Accounts: Players are not allowed to ask someone for their account password. Giving out your password, sharing accounts is not recommended, giving your personal information is your own responsibility. (What ever happens next is not our business.) Purchasing / trading / selling of accounts, is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban across all accounts of both players. If a player reports being scammed and we detect/suspect account sharing, we reserve the right to refuse further investigation. No trading Rising Items or accounts for other servers / games items OR accounts. 5a. No Trading for real life currencies: The transfer, rent, sales, commencing/trading, or endorsement of such actions, of ID/account, character or items for real money/currency is strictly forbidden. You will be banned. 5b. D-Coins Trading / Donation Selling: The sale of cash shop coins for in-game items is not prohibited, however we recommend exercising caution as scams may occur. Rising is not responsible for loss of items, replacement, and/or currency in relation to these actions, and we can therefore not help you retrieve the stolen items. Should you have solid video evidence, however, we can still ban the scammer. 6. No Advertising: Advertising, promoting, marketing, or soliciting cheats, hacks, exploits, bots, macros, other third-party programs, selling/buying/trading accounts, items, or in-game gold, including non-Rising Dekaron games or services through our game chat is strictly prohibited. 9. Cash Item Refund Policy: A. You understand and agree that the amount of Rising Coins (virtual money) which shall be charged or redeemed from your credit card or other payment method(s) through designated payment service of dekaron-rising.com. Your use of any games or purchase of Rising Coins is conditioned upon acceptance of Rules of Conduct and considered to use cash item(s) and such amount of Rising Coins shall be non-refundable/non-redeemable for real currency, including, without limitation, upon termination of your account ID for any reason, termination or discontinuation of the service. B. Purchased cash item(s) shall be non-refundable/non-redeemable for Rising Coins or real currency. C. Upon cash item expiration, the usage time of cash item will be in effect at the time of purchase and such items will be expired and disappeared without prior notification. You should carefully review your purchase when cash item(s) is being purchased in game. D. Upon a receipt of chargeback or fraud, the corresponding account ID will result in a permanent ban without prior notification. All accounts associated within the transaction will result in a permanent ban at the result of a chargeback or fraud. E. Rising Dekaron has no liability for hacking, selling, trading, misusing, mistaken deletion, or loss of your cash items from your account and no reimbursement allowed. 10. Multi-Clienting in PvP/PvE Game Modes A. Multi-Client in PvP/PvE Game Mdoes A player who is caught having dual or multiple accounts piloting inside competitive game modes such as DK Square, Colosseum, Zuto Battle, etc will be restricted from participating and/or banned. 11. Policy/Ban Retaliation Retaliating against any corrective action or measures outside the form of a ban appeal is not allowed, and can lead to further suspension on a case by case basis. Trash Talk, Respect, and Mutes in General Discussion Posted December 7, 2022 This message is not directed at any specific player, guild, or staff member. Over the past few weeks I've seen the trash talking reach levels that go beyond acceptable levels. It's gotten to a point that I believe is detrimental to the overall game experience and unfortunately we may have to start taking action if it continues. We're all here because we enjoy the game. At the end of the day, regardless of guild affiliation or competition -- we love the game and we play because we enjoy it. We have members from dozens of countries that speak dozens of language and each share their cultures. Competition is healthy and some trash talk is okay but when it turns into racism, personal attacks, or harassment it becomes detrimental to the server and demotivates players. This is a competitive game and there's nothing wrong with competition -- but lets leave it at that. Personal insults aren't necessary. Just PK each-other. Absolutely no one is except from these rules, and everyone will be held to the same standards. "Who started it" is irrelevant, it's whoever participated in hate speech or harassment. Rules & Enforcement At the bottom of this post, under the orange section, you will find the specific rules that will start being enforced to all members of the community. Action taken before this post is forgiven, but now that everyone is on the same page I'd like to ask everyone to follow these rules. If it continues to be a problem or if I end up having to spend too much time reviewing the reports, the muting/bans will be automated based on a machine learning model that will analyze the chat logs and take action. This is actually pretty common in both the social network industry and the gaming industry.
