DEV Notes
Prior to this work/patch, the game client stability had degraded to a point that was no longer acceptable, primarily due to it's outdated architecture. Game client stability, as well as network latency, is one of the most important aspects of gameplay in general: especially when it comes to the high competitiveness and PvP warfare on The Rising.
We had to take a step back to prioritize stability and abrupt disconnection fixes over content temporarily until such issues were resolved.
I am excited to announce that we have completely rewritten and significantly improved a significant portion of the net-code.
Early (internal) testing statistics show a 75%+ improvement rate and a significant decrease in game disconnections.

Gameplay Stability/Performance Improvements
Connection & Stability
Smarter Reconnection Times
The delay when logging into a character that wasn't properly logged out is now dynamic instead of a fixed wait. You'll get back in faster when possible.
Channel-Switching Fixed
No more disconnects when moving between channels.
Smarter Reconnection Times
Returning to the character selection screen no longer causes disconnections.
DK-Channel Events/PTM Stabilized
Colosseum Party Match, DK Square, Draco, and related modes should no longer randomly disconnect you.
Performance & Gameplay
Improved Position-Prediction Logic
Other players' movements will appear smoother with less teleporting and rubber-banding.
Skill Netcode Improvements (in progress)
Currently in progress. Will improve code related to skill casting, projectiles, dodges, stuns, and other skill-related architecture. More to come.
